These are specially designed contact lenses that you wear at night! They apply a controlled shape to the front surface of the eye which eliminates your short sightedness. This effect stays strong enough for you to function the entire day without contact lenses or spectacles.

Who Can Wear These Lenses

These lenses are suitable for people with the following spectacle prescriptions:

  • Spherical spectacle prescription of -0.75 to -4.50D
  • Astigmatism of up to -2.50D

They are ideal for people:

  • who find soft contact lenses do not fulfil their comfort needs
  • who are involved in recreational and sports activities
  • who have considered laser eye surgery because of the freedom it provides, but are worried about the risks

How they work

You wear the lenses overnight while you are sleeping. You simply remove the lenses each morning and you can see normally. You will also be able to see clearly with the lenses in as well, so will be able to see when you wake up in the morning (or in the middle of the night!)

After the first night, most of the necessary correction has been achieved, and normally within a week your sight during the day will be ‘treated’.

Is it Safe?

Research and experience show that the whole process is 100% reversible, so if you decide to stop wearing the lenses for any reason your eyes will return to their original shape and you will be able to wear your glasses again. This makes it an excellent alternative to laser eye surgery!

The lenses are made of a very high oxygen permeable material called Boston XO™ for maximum comfort and safety during overnight wear. Also, your eyes will spend their waking hours with natural oxygen levels, uninhibited by contact lenses.

Trying Eyedream Ortho K Lenses

Simply book an appointment! In your initial consultation, we will assess your suitability and analyse your eyes with state-of-the-art eye mapping technology. These lenses are custom made to your prescription and eye shape.  From the data gathered, the lenses will be ordered and once they are here we will show you how to take the lenses in and out and how to look after them.

Following your first night of lens wear, we will assess how much of your vision has been corrected.  Some people may need 1 or 2 pairs of daily disposable lenses to ‘top up’ the vision in the first few days, but the need for this should quickly reduce.  We will then regularly monitor your progress until you only need 3-6 monthly assessments.

Cost

The fitting fee is £120 and this will cover your initial appointments.  Following this, payment is on direct debit, the cost of which is between £40 – £50 depending on the design of lens.  This direct debit payment will cover your appointments, the cost of your lenses and your solutions needed.  You will also receive a new pair of lenses every 6 months.
